The Visitors | no.3

Chapter 5c: Customer no.3

I was having a miserable mid February and I actually went back to Malaysia that time. Please forgive me for being so secretive that I didn't inform anyone. Anyway, I went back to Brisbane with my lil fat sis after one week. She was staying with me in Brisbane for the next 12 days. Unfortunately, there were like 10/12 rainy days during her stay. So, basically, raincoats, umbrella, and Crocs were our outing attires.

What we basically did is hunting for food and summer fruits that we can hardly find in Malaysia. We missed the cherry season but peaches, apricots and plums are good too! and grapes were selling cheap that time. West End Market is always the best market to hunt for cheap fruits. We shared the yummy Shredded Pork & Spring Roll Vermicelli from Tan Thanh Vietnamese restaurant in Inala and the giant sloppy burger with the lot in Wacol snack bar together. We had our high tea at Mt. Coot-tha lookout while enjoying the stunning scenery of Brisbane city. Also, we enjoyed tracking in Burleigh Heads so much. We bought the yummy caramelised macadamia nuts from city market. we spent money on buying souvenirs for friends. And had a yummy Korean BBQ in JongGa, Chinatown. I really enjoy all the foods sharing with you and the time spending with you is priceless. Hope you feel the same too. Bu Xiu~ miss you har! :)

A Box of Chocolates

Chapter 7: Cadbury Favorites Boxed Chocolates

My momma always said, “Life was like a box of chocolates. You never know what you’re gonna get”

I am sure that you have probably heard about this for at least 300 times. I couldn't agree more that chocolates and life go hand in hand. There are so many choices in our life that we have to choose the one that is most satisfying. The choices in our life is just like the variety flavours in a box of chocolates.  They look equally good from the outside but with different fillings inside.

To be honest, I am a bad decision maker. I take forever to make a decision even when I am doing my shopping or choosing a birthday gift for my boyfriend. I always think too much, carefully analysing every single good and bad of each choices. And the worst part is I may be ending up not choosing any of them  or eventually come out a third solution.

Last Tuesday, my project supervisor asked me if I want to continue my PhD studies with him and he will help me to apply for a full scholarship. and.. and.. and.. the best offer is that he will partially sponsor me to the US for a conference in this coming July. I am really happy for this. But frankly speaking,  I don't really feel like staying in this super boring country alone for another three years, worst will be four or five years or even longer. And to be honest I am not young anymore. I need a job and I want to earn money like everyone else at my age! I want to work in the industry rather than staying in academic field forever. But I know this is a golden opportunity  to be sponsored for a PhD! But do I really want to study PhD in Microwave Engineering?Becoming a Teletubby, saying Eh-oh! everyday? I feel like dying deriving all the equations and Mr.Maxwell (Maxwell equation) is still like a stranger to me. LOL!

After a shower, I came out a conclusion that I need a break. I couldn't continue anymore in the academic stuffs deriving eqn, doing research, writing journals and thesis. I know it is hard to work outside. But my brain is freaking tired with research and papers writing. If I want to study for the PhD, I may choose to apply in other universities (preferably in Europe~). So, I guess it would be the best for me to work first? But honestly I am highly interested to attend the conference in US! Anyway, this is how I think for now. I am sure I will change my mind in a jiffy. Only God knows what my final decision will lead me to.

 arrhh..  so called life huh..

The Visitors | no.2

Chapter 5b: Customer no.2

My man was the next visitor. It was really great to meet him again after seven months of torment. His arrival had brought the sunshine to Brisbane after the long raining weeks. If you happened to read Qeensland's January news, Bundaberg was having serious flooding that time. Brisbane river was having high water level, City Cat ferry had been closed down and several places, riverbanks were warned to prepare for the possible flooding. The rail system was a mess and it took me about four hours to get to Gold Coast Airport from Brisbane. However, the sky in Gold Coast and Brisbane was clear after his arrival. We managed to visit some attractions around Brisbane, Sunshine Coast and Gold Coast in just one week time.

We acted Aussie, We laughed, We took millions of photos, We spent money in souvenirs, We made our own delicious cheese platter and Bibimbap, We refused to get up every morning, We treasure every moment we spent together. This was our first overseas trip and I'm looking forward for more to come. I am sure that he feels lucky to have a girlfriend like me who loves travel and is good in photography *blush!*. <3

Love is like a Drug

Chapter 6: White Rabbit Creamy Candy (大白兔奶糖)

White Rabbit is one of my childhood's favourites. It is sweet and has a soft and chewy texture. And the most interesting part of it is that each candy is wrapped in a thin layer of eat-able sticky rice paper that would melt in your mouth when you eat it. Unfortunately, it had been recalled and removed from store shelves due to the excessing level of harmful chemical found in it. Sad! It was so yummy but was eventually harmful to our body!

My man had once bought me some of these candies during our secondary school time. I think they were the love potion he created! His love is a drug, just like the candy. Irresistible and incredible sweet and delicious.  I get addicted to it. It isn't physically harmful but it is such a torment and pain to miss him.

Happy White Day! Darling.
I copied the following sentences from somewhere as I found them meaningful.

bubibu                    bubibu
bubibubibubibi          bubibubibubibi
I miss the warmth of your body against mine;
I miss the sound of your heartbeat against my ear;
I miss the feel of your hands locked with mine;
I miss the sound of your steady breathing;
I miss the comfort of being in your arms;
I miss the sound of your voice;
I miss everything about you

The Visitors | no.1

Chapter 5a: Customer no.1

Sydney, a friend who I met in New Zealand. She is the first visitor to Brisbane! We actually met up at Cairns and travelled together along the east coast of Australia. It was a pleasant camper van trip.  and I love travelling with her because she will always be the organizer, the planner, the navigator, the cook and a good swimmer who will guide people who can't swim like me to snorkel the amazing great barrier reef . And I'm so thankful for her cousins' family for taking care of me when I was in Sydney. Well, her first impression for me when we were in New Zealand was she is really crazy! But as time passed I found that she is a very independent and smart person and I am always amazed by her ability to convince people! I couldn't agree more that she is a social queen, a gossip queen and a beauty queen!  Although she is so busy taking up all these responsibilities of being so many queens, she manages to be a good cook too, the master chef! hoho! I gained weights in just one month staying with her. haha! Not truly her fault, but when a sweet tooth couldn't stop her bad habit of eating junk food, chocolates and chips additional to three good meals a day. Nah, this is how fat built up in my body! But my mum definitely loves her for feeding me with good meals!

In a nutshell, I was really pleased to stay with this superwoman in Brisbane. Thank you for accompany me during my long summer holiday! Also, thank you for inspiring me a lot, she is sort of my good friend and my good teacher. Looking forward to see you soon. :)

Happiness

Chapter 4: Strawberry Jam

It was the end of autumn and the beginning of winter. We started our journey heading to the south after three months of apple packing job. The car and sleeping bags were our beds, breads were our meals, Envy, the best apple in New Zealand was the snacks. There wasn't a GPS device to navigate us to our destination, maps took up the role. Mcdonalds was our favourite place to stop by for the free internet access. It was about three weeks long, travelling around the beautiful south island, heading to the north by taking the ferry from Picton to Wellington and finally the journey was terminated at the largest and most populous city in New Zealand, Auckland. I miss the moment of being so adventures. I miss the moment we shared good and bad together, challenged our limits and fearlessly overcame the obstacles together.

Life could be so simple. and
The true happiness came from sharing breads and strawberry jam with the best travel mates.
